Deep Health

Illusory Innovation

Chronic disease now affects over half of all adults, driven by the collision of our biology, our environments, and a broken healthcare system. We face a constant barrage of toxic exposures and cheap dopamine hits, compounded by sedentary routines.

Yet much of today's health innovation remains shallow.  We have endlessly automated administrative workflows, virtualized legacy care models, and churned out point solutions for every condition under the sun.

But are we any healthier?

Bending the Curve

We see an urgent need for a different path forward.

We believe the most enduring value - both social and financial - will come from bending the curve of disease.  This is the work of deep health.

Deep health is not a single field. It emerges at the convergence of advances in biology, chemistry, AI/ML, robotics, and clinical medicine, translating breakthroughs in these domains to reshape the frontier of human health.

Demands of Deep Health

Deep health requires bold leadership in three places:

  1. The Biology Within Us. We need biotech platforms that move beyond symptom management to decode and reprogram disease itself, creating a more powerful armamentarium of medicines, diagnostics, and research tools.

  2. The Environment Around Us. We need technologies that confront environmental and industrial drivers of disease, cleaning our air, water, soil, and food, and replacing toxic products with safer, more functional chemistries.

  3. The Systems that Care for Us. We need system-level innovation that delivers durable clinical impact by expanding capacity where it is scarce, bringing advanced therapies to patients who need them, and ending interventions that do more harm than good.

Deep health is where healthcare’s future - and its greatest companies - will be built. â€‹

If you’re building at this edge, we want to hear from you.
